Reception have been reading the book ‘Handa’s Surprise’, which has helped us learn about a healthy diet. In order to help us learn some new words and build on our vocabulary, we tasted some exotic fruits this afternoon, and later voted for our favourites. We also talked about why fruit and vegetables are important for a healthy lifestyle. After we had come up with some descriptive language to talk about the fruit, some children told us about their favourites.

Imade: I like the banana because it’s very soft and sweet.
Nicole: My favourite fruit is pineapple because it’s juicy.
Denzel: Most children like banana, but I like all of them. Mango is juicy and sour.
